Academy Reopening June 15, 2020

Following CDC guidelines and reopening schedule published by Virginia Governor's office (i.e. Safer at Home: Phase Two, Guidelines for All Business Sectors), IronHide Academy will reopen on 6/15/2020. We are committed to providing a safe environment for you and your family to train. Consequently, our team has referenced the aforesaid federal and state regulations to outline a plan for safeguarding the wellbeing of our students and managing the potential spread of the SARS-CoV-2 within the Academy. The said plan supplements our already strict student health and welfare protocols.

Temporary Schedule

Beginning on 15 June 2020, classes will be scheduled and run per the below schedule until new guidelines on class size and physical distancing of members have been issued.

Structure of Classes

While we are operating on this temporary schedule, mats will be divided into 10’x 10’ spaces with one member occupying each space in order to ensure that we maintain recommended physical distance between individuals. For every 1 hour class that appears on the schedule, 45 minutes will be dedicated to a workout consisting of solo drills and physical conditioning, and 15 minutes will be allocated for cleaning.

Notice: If students would like to choose a designated partner for drilling during the temporary schedule, they may do so. Partners will preferably be from the same household. If not, the selected partners should be someone committed to a similar schedule. Loaner gear will be available for use (at the members own risk), and the user will be responsible for cleaning the gear with supplies provided by staff.

Class Sizes

Classes schedule for the front room will have a maximum occupancy of 10, while classes scheduled for the back room will have a maximum occupancy of 7.

On-Line Scheduling

In order to ensure that you have a spot reserved in the class you wish to attend, we have set up on-line scheduling. Please see attached “How To - Scheduling Procedure” for step by step instructions on use of the system. Use of on line scheduling is not mandatory, but members with an reserved spot will be given priority in the event of a conflict.

Check In Procedures

1. Before class starts, instructor will launch the attendance portal on the iPad at the front desk.

2. As students arrive, they:

a. Check into class via attendance portal.

b. Sign a temporary updated waiver. Waiver will specify that student attests that:

  • They are not sick and have not been in recent close contact with anyone who is.

  • That they understand that while we have endeavored to minimize the risk, training does increase their chances of exposure and that IronHide shall not be held responsible in any way should they contract any illness.

3. Instructor/front desk staff will take students temperatures before they are allowed on the mat. Anyone with a temperature above 100 will be asked to go home.

Cleaning Protocols

In order to ensure that we are doing everything we possibly can to ensure the continued health and safety of all our members, we ask that upon completion of your class, you depart in a timely fashion so that our staff may thoroughly clean and disinfect all gym spaces.

Thanks again for your patience, understanding and support while we navigate these events. We can’t wait to see you all back on the mats!
